You are Mercedes. How do you deal with Bendita's rather surly, selfish attitude? How will you discipline her?

I think I'll do it verbally. And maybe if she's being a really bad kid, I'll certainly give a spanking. And of course, I'll withhold some of her privileges like watching TV, using the computer, no new toys, that kind of thing.

I know she'll get hurt, but it's for her own good. I plan to be a parent who will only spank her child if the situation really requires it - but of course, after that, I will comfort her and try to talk to her about what she did and what I had to do to correct it.

Ask, and you shall get answers. They won't always make sense, though. :D
